Cologne-based start-up hylane and Germany’s largest hydrogen refueling provider sign a strategic cooperation agreement to ensure reliable refueling for the hylane fleet. Renters of hylane trucks benefit from fuel discounts and priority access.

To facilitate seamless hydrogen refueling, hylane has partnered with H2 MOBILITY, operator of Germany's largest network of hydrogen refueling stations. hylane customers now have access to H2 MOBILITY’s 350-bar refueling stations, enjoying exclusive fuel discounts and priority availability. The partners work together to ensure a steady hydrogen supply for hylane vehicles. Refueling is made hassle-free with the hylane fuel card, which is also accepted at other operators' stations. If customers prefer to refuel at alternative providers, they can do so without restrictions.

Sara Schiffer, Managing Director of hylane: "With H2 MOBILITY, we have found a partner who has already gained a lot of experience in operating hydrogen refuelling stations in recent years and continuously expands its offering. The discount we can jointly offer our customers is an important step in making the use of hydrogen trucks economically attractive."

Falk Schulte-Wintrop, Head of Project Development at H2 MOBILITY: "Hydrogen is considered the most flexible of the emission-free alternatives for commercial vehicles due to short refueling times, long ranges, and no payload restrictions. To make the transition easy, we create planning security with a transparent discount structure, combined with a uniform fuel card that works at all hydrogen refueling stations."

Further expansion planned

H2 MOBILITY has already established a basic infrastructure for light and medium commercial vehicles. Now, the company is focusing on expanding for heavy-duty transport. In principle, vehicles can refuel up to eight kilograms of H2 at 700 bar at all stations – sufficient for small commercial vehicles. At more and more locations, however, up to 40 kilograms of H2 at 350 bar is now possible – suitable for hylane vehicles. Currently, a mix of green and gray hydrogen is being refueled. In the future, both partners aim to focus on green hydrogen.
